Hi! I am Luis Manuel Olguin. I hold a PhD and MA in Sociology from UCLA and an MA in Linguistics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Family Medicine at UCLA.
I am a scholar of language and social interaction with a broad research focus on interpersonal communication in everyday life. My scholarship is guided by a deep appreciation for thinking across disciplines and methods. I have a multidisciplinary background and specialized training in interaction sociology, ethnomethodology and conversation analysis, institutional pragmatics, Hispanic linguistics, and discourse studies in Latin America.
